Fine dining in South Africa - Anne Klarie and Lannice Snyman (First edition)
Fine dining in South Africa - Anne Klarie and Lannice Snyman (First edition)
Fine Dining is a very special collection of recipes developed by Lannice Snyman and Anne Klarie for Chardonnay, the restaurant they started at Hout Bay in the Cape. These are recipes designed for anyone who values fine food and takes pride in dining in style.
Chardonnay opened its doors in December 1982. For Anne and Lannice the restaurant was the realisation of a long-standing dream. It specialised in an innovative and personal cuisine, with each dish prepared by the owners themselves. Here they indulged their passion for culinary art by regularly perfecting new dishes and changing their menu. As time went by, Fine Dining evolved - a book that is the joyous expression of the talent of two of South Africa's foremost food writers.
Anne and Lannice sold their restaurant in 1984, but their recipes have captured and preserved the very best of Chardonnay: dishes tried and proven in that most pressurised and demanding of environments, the professional restaurant. Though never intimidating, the recipes are imaginative and often spectacular. All are written in an easy-to-follow style and are well within the scope of the average interested cook. An essential book for anyone who believes that dining well - whether alone or in the company of family and friends - is a sensual and rewarding experience.
Fine Dining is available in Afrikaans under the title Eet en Swier.
