Evolution: The theory of Teilhard de Chardin - Bernard Delfgaauw

Professor Delfgaauw aims to give an introduction to the philosophy of Teilhard de Chardin, in order thus to simplify the reading matter of THE PHENOMENON OF MAN.

The middle section presents Teilhard' s view on the problem of evolution. Essentially it attempts to show how Teilhard classifies evolution as progress. The first chapter places this view in a general framework; the third and last chapter points out the philosophical problems which this view - and the question of evolution in general - brings about.

The object of this study is to present Teilhard's thinking in the easiest way possible to understand. For these conceptions are not only of importance to the biologist, the geologist, the philosopher and the theologian, but to everyone who is interested in the development of our world.
