Three unforgettable tales of life, love and drama in the RAF in one volume:
633 SQUADRON
One of the best stories ever told about the Second World War – a dramatic, poignant and tragic tale of a squadron of men chosen to carry out an almost impossible task. From the start of the squadron’s special training to the climactic attack on the Black Fjord, it is a story of authenticity and excitement.
633 SQUADRON: Operation Rhine Maiden
After the near-suicide mission to the Swartfjord, which had claimed so many lives, morale among what was left of 633 Squadron was low. But the Germans were developing a new and deadly anti-aircraft rocket, and the squadron’s new mission was to make a daring strike on an underground target buried deep in a Bavarian valley.
633 SQUADRON: Operation Crucible
It is autumn 1943 and a vindictive press campaign in the States had placed the blame for heavy US losses over Europe on the lack of support from the RAF. To restore American confidence joint special operations were planned. Operation Crucible was to be a Dieppe-style landing launched by the Americans, and 633 Squadron were assigned their most hazardous role yet – giving ground support to the troops against totally unforeseen odds.
